If you are an mdarc.org member and can talk about our club we need your help.
Will-Call and Registration get very busy and sometimes don't have time to talk about MDARC at length with interested attendees. We host a table at Pacificon to give a space for attendees to ask about MDARC club activities, membership, exams and raffles at each general meeting of HRO Gift Certificates and home made pies. Attendees are welcome to participate with our members in nets-on-mdarc-systems and nets-on-other-systems.
MDARC was founded in 1947 by five people including Bud W6CX himself. This is our sixteenth Pacificon event at the San Ramon Marriott and 31st time our club has sponsored the Pacific Division conference, first held in 1920 in San Francisco by the sfarc.org established in 1916. We are proud to carry on the traditions.
We show introductory looping videos from the ARRL (slides and voice from arrl.org in US) and RSGB (video with kids from rsgb.org in UK).
The table hosts radios for Pacificon talk-in traffic on W6CX. No call should go unanswered on our repeater during our amazing event.
In 2024 our club will have organized and supported 36 Public Service events. On Saturday Larry Loomer KI6LNB will be net control for the Summit Stomp running event on Mt Diablo using W6CX. During the event he will be our talk-in coordinator and net control. We share our amazing repeater atop Mt. Diablo and support him during those busy hours. A public service event is a great demonstration for attendees that have not operated one yet. It's a lot of fun!
Also of note, the LivermoreARK.org is supporting the Cycle of Hope Bike Ride Event on Sunday as well as the Swap Meet, T-Hunting and their own club table.
Email mdarc@pacificon.org and let us know what hours during the conference you are available to staff the table.
